Hi, I’m Rachel!
For the last 20 years I’ve either been creative directing photoshoots, designing pages of magazines, been on set for high budget photoshoots, and been behind the camera hundreds of times for my own portrait and commercial photoshoots.
My interest in, and deep love for, photography began decades ago in high school. Intrigued by the work of Sally Mann, Helmut Newton, Irving Penn, among many others, I began studying film photography—at first informally and then officially at Ryerson University (now TMU).
I started shooting film as a teenager, and over 20 years later, my love for photography has only grown. I derive deep satisfaction from capturing a subject's inner and outer beauty, as well as the true essence of their personality. I love to learn new techniques, constantly refining my style, lighting and the quality of my photographs.
What sets me apart:
I’m not just a photographer, I have extensive experience working as a creative director, stylist and set designer—all skills that I bring to my shoots.
Many of the hand painted backdrops you see in my portraits were painted by me (as seen in my photo here). So when you shoot with me, you get something unique that no other photographer has.
I know how to pose and I’ll guide you through our entire shoot together! So don’t worry if you aren’t comfortable in front of the camera. I have lots of experience working with professional models and have even been in front of the camera myself many times for commercial jobs and portrait shoots.

A one-on-one phone call to discuss studio setting, backdrop options and wardrobe advice. I’m here to help throughout the entire process!
A personalized mood board and styling suggestions. You will also have access to my PDF Wardrobe guide filled with helpful tips.
Your images will be delivered in a private, password protected gallery where you will be able to view all the photos from the shoot and make your selections.
Professional retouching. Each photo is personally edited by me. Every tiny detail is assessed, and distracting elements like temporary blemishes and flyaways are removed. This ensures that the focus remains solely on what matters.
Your final images will be delivered in both colour and black and white.

Family Portraits for up to 3 people:
Starting at $600+HST
This is a great option for a solo portrait of your child, parent and child, sibling pair, or family of up to three people.

Starting at $750+HST
This option is for families or groups of 4-6 people.

Extended Family Shoot 7+:
Starts at $1000
This option is for families or groups of 7+ people. Each additional person after 7 people is $75+HST.

Maternity shoot with 1-2 people: $600+HST (1 hour)

I currently work out of a few different studios in Toronto. One studio is located in the west end of the city, close to College and Lansdowne, and the other is located in the east end of the city, close to Carlaw and Gerard. If we are doing an environmental/branding portrait shoot, I will send you a list of options to choose from.

Of course! Retouching portraits is about quality control. All images are optimized for, colour, contrast & brightness. Every tiny detail is assessed, and distracting elements like temporary blemishes, and flyaways are removed. This ensures that the focus remains on you and your expression. My retouching process includes removal of major blemishes and fly-aways, while gently softening skin and lines. Scars, freckles, and other characteristics help make you you, and will only be retouched by request.
More complex retouching is available for an additional fee. This would include requests like body modifcation and altering features etc. If there is something you are insecure about, please let me know before the shoot and we can discuss how to address it.

Your images will be delivered to you in an online, password protected gallery within three weeks of the shoot. Once you have made your selections, it’s usually about 5-7 days for you to receive your final retouched images. If you have a specific deadline, let me know and I will do everything possible to get you your images in time.

Yes! browse through the galleries on my website or check out my Instagram and let me know which colour(s) speak to you. Many of the hand painted canvases you see in my work were painted by me. Or perhaps you’d like to keep it simple and shoot on a white/grey/black background and that is great too!

Yes! This is a great option if you have a large group and a good ammount of open space for me to set-up lighing. Let me know where you are based and how many people in your family and I will provide a quote. Travel fees outside of the GTA will also apply.

Yes! If you are interested in a professional makeup artist, please let me know and I will share their contact information with you. Plan to come to the studio with your hair and makeup already done, unless you have booked additional time at the studio to accommodate this.
